Au Chamois d'Or (476 80 31 32; €€€; above) is the class act in town with luxury right on the slopes at the top of the resort town. This hotel has an elegant restaurant that is open to the public. Its collection of rooms includes 12 large suites and 30 standard rooms with spectacular views to the south.

Pic Blanc (476 11 42 42; €€; left & right) sits at the edge of a cliff with perfectly unspoiled views from the south-facing spacious deluxe rooms. Skiing is about a 200-meter walk across a parking lot. The town shuttle pick up is in front of the door and even without a bus town is less than a 10-minute walk away.

Les Alpages (476 11 07 99; €–€€) is a B&B only. But, it is perhaps one of the best overall values in the town with exceptional rooms and suites that are spacious and convenient both to town and the slopes. The bar at the hotel also serves quality wines by the glass, something hard to find elsewhere in the resort.

Le Printemps de Juiliette (476 11 44 38; €€; left) is like stepping into a frilly doll house. Ruffles and lace and light whites, yellows and golds set a cheery atmospere. The ageless owner of this hotel dotes on her guests with special treats like crepes and cakes. This unique hotel is right in the middle of the town action and only a short walk or shuttle to the slopes.

Ours Blanc — Pierre et Vacance (476 80 80 00; €; right) is a residence hotel with relatively spacious apartments. With these places a two bedroom place will comfortably sleep four and can squeeze in another two or three if the living room pull out couch is used. A three-bedroom place is good for six (check for bunk beds) or eight if using the pullout couch. Prices even when leaving the living room unoccupied are only about €300 a week per person. Each apartment has a full kitchen so that more money can be saved on meals.
